Our Story
Built on a cart. Powered by D.C.
Smoke N' Munch started where most great D.C. things start: on the sidewalk, with a line, and a pile of napkins.

We're a street food brand serving the District the way the District deserves to be served — bold, smoky, generous, and unapologetically flavorful. Every plate that leaves our cart is meant to outdo the comfort food you grew up on. That's the bar.
We griddle, smoke, and sling from corners and plazas across Washington, D.C., from Farragut Square at lunch to The Wharf on a Friday night. Wherever we set up, we bring real fire — and the food to match.
Our founder helped decriminalize street vending for every vendor in Washington, D.C.
Long before Smoke N' Munch had a name, our founder was on the front lines of the fight to legalize and decriminalize sidewalk vending across the District — organizing with vendors, sitting in council hearings, and pushing the city to recognize what was always true: street food is D.C. culture. That work helped change the law for every cart, every cooler, every grandma with a folding table. We carry that legacy on every shift.
What we stand for
- Vendors first. The sidewalk belongs to all of us. We support and stand with every D.C. vendor.
- Flavor first. No shortcuts. No frozen tricks. Smoke, salt, fire, time.
- Neighborhood first. We hire local, source local, and feed local.
